Who I Am

I began my law enforcement career in 2015 after graduating from the Coastal Plain Police Academy at Wilson Community College, completing 659 hours of state-mandated training covering criminal, civil, juvenile, traffic, investigative, patrol, court procedures, ethics, emergency response, and community relations.

From 2016 to 2017, I served as a Patrol Officer with the Kinston Police Department, where I completed multiple in-service trainings and became certified by the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services as an Intoxilyzer EC/IR II Chemical Analyst, allowing me to conduct chemical breath analysis in impaired-driving cases.

Between 2017 and 2019, I served with the Sharpsburg Police Department as a Patrol Officer and Governor’s Highway Safety Program Coordinator. In this role, I managed grant compliance, coordinated multi-agency traffic and impaired-driving enforcement operations, and ensured proper documentation and reporting. These efforts resulted in numerous arrests and successful prosecutions. I also earned certifications in Radar Operation and Standardized Field Sobriety Testing.

In 2019, I joined the Nash County Sheriff’s Office, where I have been trained by some of the most elite law enforcement professionals in the state and mentored by Sheriff Keith Stone, an outstanding sheriff and leader who emphasizes aggressive, lawful enforcement against gangs, guns, and drugs. Under his leadership, I was shaped into a well-rounded deputy focused on accountability, proactive policing, and community safety.

Since joining the Sheriff’s Office, I have served in multiple roles including Patrol Deputy, Special Operations (“I-Team”), Field Training Officer, Sergeant, and currently as a Senior Deputy in the Patrol Division. I became a certified Field Training Officer in 2020 and completed the Police Law Institute, a 76-hour course emphasizing constitutional policing, investigative detention, search and seizure, probable cause, warrant preparation, and lawful use of force.

In 2024, I completed the Northwestern University School of Police Staff and Command, a nationally respected 12-week executive leadership program conducted in partnership with the Missouri State Highway Patrol. The program focused on advanced leadership, organizational management, ethics, critical incident command, risk management, budgeting, strategic planning, and modern policing challenges.

I continue to serve the citizens of Nash County as a Senior Deputy while dedicating my experience, leadership, and commitment to public safety to my campaign to become your next Wilson County Sheriff.
